Most people are not aware of what they can and cannot put in their skip hire. So to avoid any hassles and extra charges when it comes time for collection, the following items are classed as “hazardous waste” and SHOULD NOT be disposed of: TV’s, monitors, fridges, paints, solvents, liquids or any sort of asbestos. To dispose of any of these hazardous materials you need to contact your local council. They will be able to provide you with a contact who can dispose of any hazardous items that you may have.
Skips can be used for general waste which is typically anything involved with a general cleanup around the house and property. If you have any questions about your skip hire, feel free to contact us via our Live Chat where one of our wonderful customer reps will be happy to assist you.

To maintain the high level of service we are very proud of here at BookaSkip.co.uk, we will only allow suppliers who share a high level of customer service to be able to sign on with us. Therefore, we know that our customers will receive a great service when they book their skip through www.bookaskip.co.uk.
All of our suppliers are registered waste carriers. Every skip hire company or site dealing with mixed wastes in the way of treating, storing or sorting MUST HAVE a waste management licence. Failing to hold this license can incur large fines.
You can trust in the knowledge that you are dealing with a professional company when you book your skip on www.bookaskip.co.uk.

Landfill tax is seen as a key mechanism in enabling the UK to meet its targets set out in the Landfill Directive for the landfilling of biodegradable waste. Through increasing the cost of landfill, other advanced waste treatment technologies with higher gate fees are made to become more financially attractive.
Every year since April 2001 landfill tax in the United Kingdom has risen at a rate of £3.00 per tonne. Currently, the Landfill tax stands at £24.00 and will continue to rise each year.
As of 01 April 2008, the Landfill Tax for active waste going to landfill, has risen by £8.00 per tonne. This increase will continue each year for the next three years. By the 2010/2011 financial year, a level of £48.00 a tonne will be reached.
