What can I put in my skip?
Skips can be used for general waste which is typically anything involved with a general cleanup around the house and property that is neither liquid nor of a hazardous nature.

What can’t go in the skip?
No hazardous waste. This includes TV’s, monitors, fridges, paints, solvents, liquids or any asbestos can be placed in the skip. To dispose of any of these materials you need to contact your local council. They will be able to provide you with a contact who can dispose of anything hazardous or not accepted in your skip.

I don’t know what size skip I need?
The website provides a scale drawing of skip sizes to help you select. Click on the view button at step 4 of the order process to determine the size of each bin. A 6 cubic yard skip is the most common size.

How much does it cost to hire a skip?
It depends on the size of the skip and the number of suppliers that have skips available in your area. Just put your details into the website, and it will offer the lowest price to meet your requirements, with no obligations.

Will they be able to get up my drive?
Most suppliers will have smaller trucks for tricky locations. Your drive needs to be 2.8 metres wide for a normal truck with a 6 cubic yard skip (standard size). Once ordered you should contact your supplier and discuss the location of the skip, if you think that access may be difficult.

When would I need a permit?
Permits are required by most local councils for skips that need to be placed on public land, including footpath berms, and the highway. Permits can be arranged for a maximum of 28 days. In most cases the supplier will be able to arrange a permit for you. A few councils require that the hirer must apply for the permit, we will advise you during the booking process if you are required to arrange the permit.

Happy bin hunting!
